The broadcast date of TGA 2022 has been confirmed. Here are all the new and returning games you can expect from the show. As well as what might leak ahead of the show.

The Game Awards always produce lots of gaming leaks and rumors and this year is no different. The awards show is coming back this year and will take place on December 8.

Like previous TGA shows, the venue will be Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Additional information about the show will be announced in the coming months.

As the name suggests, The Game Awards is a show about bestowing awards and celebrating the gaming medium. However, a big part of the show is video game announcements. The reveal of upcoming games is what attracts most people. This year will be no different. And as always, a lot of titles leak ahead of the show.

The host of the show Geoff Keighley has promised new game announcements. Several previously announced games will also be present. But before we get into all the possible reveals, we should focus on actual awards and nominations. After all, it is called the Game Awards.

Recently, Keighley revealed the nominations for almost all the awards. All the big hitters you expected are there, along with multiple indie games that deserve recognition.

Most Nominated

This year’s winner in terms of nominations is God of War Ragnarök. It received nominations for ten awards, including Game of the Year. FromSoftare’s magnum-opus Elden Ring was also selected for GOTY and six more awards. Horizon Forbidden West secured seven nominations, and Stray surprised many by securing five nominations.

GAME OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS

  • A Plague Tale: Requiem
  • Elden Ring
  • God of War Ragnarök
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Stray
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 3

You can visit the official site to read about all the awards and nominees.

God of War Ragnarök came very close to becoming the most nominated game in TGA history. Currently, the game with the most nominations is The Last of Us Part 2, which was selected for 11 awards and won seven of them. The funny part is that both of them are PlayStation first-party games. Ragnarök still has a good chance, though. The nominees for the Players’ Voice Award haven’t been announced yet. It will be a tie between the two games if God of War Ragnarök is selected.

Here are all the games we are expecting at the event.

Dead Space (2023)

The appearance of Dead Space (2023) is a no-brainer. The game is releasing on January 27, and EA would love to capitalize on the popularity of TGA. The release of The Callisto Protocol on December 2 will also surge players’ interest in the horror-space genre.

Dead Island 2

The long-in-development zombie game was finally re-revealed during Gamescom 2022 as well as leaked footage. Dead Island 2 is planned for February and will be a highlight of The Game Awards if shown. Expect the developer to reveal lengthy gameplay footage at the event.

Possible Kojima Game

We know that Hideo Kojima is currently working on two games, one is a Microsoft-backed experimental game, and another is Death Stranding 2. The Game Awards is the perfect place for Hideo Kojima to announce either of the titles. The Japanese video game designer has good relations with Keighley, so a reveal at TGA is likely.

If gameplay were to leak ahead of GA, it would likely to be one of, if not the biggest, news stories in the gaming world this year.

Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga

If Microsoft is planning to participate in The Game Awards 2022, then Hellblade 2 will probably be there. The sequel was announced to the world at TGA 2019, with the first gameplay footage revealed at TGA 2021. Going by history, the game should have some presence at the event. And we might see leaked gameplay ahead of its outing.

Starfield

Starfield is another Microsoft-owned IP that should be present at the event. The space RPG is one of the most highly anticipated titles for Xbox. The game is planned for the first half of 2023, meaning TGA 2022 could be used to kick off its marketing campaign.

Redfall

Arkane Studios’ recent game, Deathloop, might have been a PS5-console exclusive, but their next game is an Xbox-console exclusive. Like Starfield, Redfall is also targeting the first half of the coming year. The chances of TGA featuring a trailer for the game are high. Maybe some gameplay footage if we are lucky.

Avowed

The Elder Scrolls 6 is not the only medieval role-playing game Xbox fans are looking forward to. A new RPG is in development at Obsidian Entertainment. The developer went silent after announcing Avowed back in 2020. Its presence at The Game Awards will be a hype moment for many fans. The game will be exclusive to Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Obsidian Entertainment is also developing The Outer Worlds 2. However, the chances of that game being present are astronomically low. Unless there’s some kind of leak.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy never had any appearance on any TGA show, but that could change this year. The action-adventure role-playing game is releasing in February, meaning we could get a trailer for the show. However, don’t expect any in-depth footage.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth or Final Fantasy XVI

Square Enix and Sony are going to have a solid 2023. Both Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Final Fantasy XVI are planned for next year and will be exclusive to PlayStation 5. The publisher will probably reveal more info about the games at PlayStation events like State of Play or PS Showcase. But, a small trailer or teaser at The Game Awards 2022 is still a good possibility.

Forspoken

Forspoken is another AAA Square Enix game releasing next year for PS5. Unlike the above Final Fantasy games, the title will also release on PC. The game will launch on January 24, so a trailer or some gameplay footage at TGA is not out of the question.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

With The Callisto Protocol and Dead Space (2023) releasing soon, I think it’s safe to say that the horror genre has come back with full force. Resident Evil 4 Remake is another title that you should look forward to.

The Game Awards will be a great place to reveal gameplay footage. The remake launches on March 24, so some appearance at the show seems likely.

Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2, the sequel to the cult classic, was announced during The Game Awards 2021. So, it makes sense to reveal more information about the game at this year’s TGA.

The game will be more horror focused and utilize a third-person perspective. There you go, horror fans, another scary game to enjoy next year.

Alone in the Dark Remake

Alright horror fans, at this point, you are just getting spoiled. We know that a remake of Alone in the Dark is in the works, as it was confirmed this month only. However, the announcement did not reveal any release date or window. The Game Awards 2022 will be a perfect place to show a release date trailer.

Atomic Heart

The action role-playing game by the Russian studio, Mundfish, is currently planned for Q4 2022. So, technically the game could release before TGA. However, given that the actual release date is still a mystery and how frequently games get delayed nowadays, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Atomic Heart gets pushed to 2023. If it does, then an appearance at the event will be very likely.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be Rocksteady Studios’ first major AAA game after a long time. Their last AAA game was Batman Arkham Knight, released back in 2015. As the name suggests, you will play as a member of the Suicide Squad, and your objective will be to kill the members of the Justice League. Brainiac has successfully brainwashed most superheroes, so now, it is up to the villains to save to world. The game will release in the first half of 2023. So, its attendance at The Game Awards is a possibility.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Expansion

Cyberpunk 2077 received a significant player boost thanks to the recent Netflix anime show Cyberpunk Edgerunners. The game’s future might be even brighter as the already-announced Phantom Liberty expansion is targeting next year for release.

The expansion launch will surely boost interest in the game once more. Unlike the base game, the DLC will only release on current-gen consoles and PC. TGA 2022 will be a perfect platform to show off what CD Projekt has been working on for the last two years.

The Witcher Remake

The expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 might not be the only project CD Projekt may reveal at TGA. The polish developer recently announced that they are working on a remake of the first Witcher game. The project is in early development, so don’t expect to see any gameplay footage. However, a cinematic trailer could be a real possibility.

Grand Theft Auto VI

Grand Theft Auto VI reveal at The Game Awards 2022 is not very likely, but it’s not impossible either. Microsoft believes that GTA 6 will release in 2024. If we are to go by Rockstar’s previous marketing campaigns, then we should get an official reveal two years before launch. TGA 2022 is the last gaming event for this year, so an announcement there isn’t completely out of the equation.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

There are several Star Wars games in development, but the one we are waiting for is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. EA has confirmed that the game will release next year. TGA 22 will be a perfect place to reveal the first gameplay footage of the anticipated sequel. We will also love to see the FPS Star Wars game that Respawn is developing, but that might be asking for too much.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

God of War Ragnarök has finally been released, which means we need gameplay footage for the next-in-line Sony game. Insomniac’s latest project, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, has officially been confirmed, but the public hasn’t seen a single second of gameplay. PS5 owners will love to see what they are waiting for, and TGA will be an ideal place to reveal that.

Horizon Forbidden West Rumored DLC

Previous leaks have suggested that there are tons of Horizon-related projects in the works, and one of them is an expansion for Forbidden West. The supposed DLC should be close to release, as the game is now more than ten months old. I can imagine its reveal at TGA with a Q1 2023 release date.

Sony PC Game Announcements

Alright, this one might be a little out there. Sony usually does not reveal its PC ports at such events. However, they did announce that The Last of Us Part 1 is planned for both PS5 and PC during Summer Game Fest 2022. So, anything is possible now.

Previous leaks have suggested that the PC versions of Returnal and Sackboy: A Big Adventure are in development. Sony revealing the PC version of both games at PS Showcase is unlikely. So, maybe they will announce one of them at TGA 2022.

As mentioned above, the list is based on speculation, not any official announcement. So, take this with a grain of salt. The Game Awards 2022 is more than three months away. Even the organizers may not know which games will be present for sure. After all, plans like this can change in an instant. What we do know for sure is that we should expect several World Premieres.
