AMD’s mid range chipset seem to also follow the PCIe bifurcation trend.

According to a recent leak, AMD is prepping the release of two variants of B650 chipsets, including the standard B650 and B650E. The ‘E’ in the B650E stands for Extreme.

The leak from the Twitter user, @wxnod included an image that confirmed the existence of the two chipsets. Of the two chipsets, the B650E is supposed to feature a PCIe 5.0 graphics slot and a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot for storage expansion. On the other hand, the standard B650 offers the option to choose either a PCIe 5.0 graphics or storage expansion.

In May, AMD officially revealed its flagship X670E chipset. The red giant also confirmed the existence of X670 and B650 chipsets, but it’s surprising to learn that the B series chipset is also following a similar bifurcation trend.

While the X670 chipsets will carry a higher price tag, the B-series chipsets will be aimed at mid-tier PC builds. It’s important to note that the B650E will be a more attractive option for consumers looking to get the more performance for dollar.

There is no official announcement from AMD on either of the chipsets, but fans can expect to learn more during the official AMD Ryzen 7000 and AM5 reveal livestream.
