Assassin’s Creed Codename Red

The two characters are Samurai and Shinobi, the latter of which is an African refugee

Details about the upcoming game Assassin’s Creed Codename Red have been kept under wraps by Ubisoft. However, Insider Gaming received intriguing details from anonymous. We already knew that the game takes place in Feudal Japan, but now we have some information about its protagonists.

The game will offer two playable characters, a Samurai and a Shinobi. The teaser has already showcased the female Samurai. The Shinobi character, on the other hand, is an African refugee who is a member of the Creed. The latter could be inspired by a real-life African Samurai Yasuke, but that’s just speculation on our part.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Red is scheduled for a late 2024 release window, although Ubisoft has not disclosed a full reveal date. Players expecting more details at E3 would be disappointed as that event will focus on AC Mirage and the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR.

The leak also claims that the game emphasizes stealth gameplay. According to the sources, the developer has taken a similar approach to Splinter Cell and Hitman games, with features such as hiding bodies, concealing in tall grass, and extinguishing lights to remain undetected.

In other leaks and rumors, Insomniac’s latest title, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, could be making its way to PC. Check out our previous story for more information.
