The Xperia 5 IV could be Sony’s upcoming flagship, might cater to mobile photography enthusiasts.

A recent teaser from Sony indicated an arrival of a new smartphone, and following it is a new Geekbench score for an alleged Sony smartphone.

The leak comes as part of the Geekbench 5 score discovered on the Japanese website – sumahodigest.com. According to Sumahodigest, the Sony Xperia 5 IV is a new flagship smartphone from the Japanese tech giant, with a rumored release on September 5.

According to the Geekbench 5 report, the Xperia 5 IV scored 1152 on single-core and 3304 on multi-core. It is unclear what kind of processor powers this phone, but the Sumahodigest reports that the Xperia 5 IV will be powered by a high-end Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

Codenamed XQ-CQ62, the smartphone will allegedly feature 8 GB of RAM and may run on Android 12 out of the box. Xperia 5 IV’s Geekbench scores and specs are not appealing, as some fans could be hoping for a more powerful processor. As of now, all we know is that Sony is teasing a camera-centric phone with an official reveal on September 1.

We advise taking this leak with a grain of salt because there is no record for “XQ-CQ62” on Geekbench. Fans will have to wait until September 1 to see if the claim carries any weight.
