World War 2 sequels are dropped. Past is no more, long live the future.

The long-running FPS franchise, Call of Duty, has become a target of yet another leak. More information about an upcoming COD game has been surfing the net. And no, we are talking about Modern Warfare 2.

The reputable leaker RalphsValve revealed some surprising details about the next Sledgehammer project. Their new game won’t be a Vanguard sequel. Instead, the developer is now working on Advanced Warfare 2. It is a sequel to the 2014 title, which was the first game to bring advanced mobility to the series — a controversial in the COD community.

Advanced Warfare 2 will be a premium title and will release in 2025, just one year after the Treyarch COD game. It means that 2024 COD will only have a one-year lifespan, unlike Modern Warfare 2, which is rumored to have two years of post-launch support.

Sledgehammer Games were initially hoping for two Vanguard sequels. However, the reception of the WW2 title wasn’t too hot. Maybe that’s why the developer decided to revisit an older series.

TheGhostOfHope, another leaker focusing on COD games, has corroborated this leak. However, we still don’t know for sure if Advanced Warfare 2 is real or not. What we do know is that the AW1 antagonist, Kevin Spacy, won’t be in it for obvious reasons.
