Statements from one of Apple’s Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) providers indicates a jump in iPhone prices

Famous leaker Ming-chi Kuo suggests that the average selling price (ASP) of the iPhone 14 could possibly increase by 15% compared to the iPhone 13.  According to him, the two main factors in this increase are the iPhone 14 price-hikes and higher shipment costs.

For comparison, the standard iPhone 13 model costs $799 (after carrier discounts), while the Pro and Pro Max models cost $999 and $1,099, respectively. He believes the Average Selling price (ASP) of the iPhone 14 lineup (including Pro models) will be around $1,000 to $1,050.

Kuo deduced this from a statement made by one of Apple’s main EMS providers – Foxconn. Their financial reports indicate major improvements which are likely the consequence of the manufacturing services provided to Apple – implying a potential increase in prices for the phone.

He further suggested that Foxconn is one of the winners of Apple’s increased ASP. Foxconn has an estimated 60-70% proportion as an EMS provider to Apple, which means that it will undoubtedly benefit from an increased iPhone 14 ASP.
