Apple is yet to decide on the display size and panel technology for the budget iPhone

Another generation of the iPhone SE is under development, and there are different reports. We will most likely see a design overhaul, and a more modern notched design is expected. As per MacRumors, a recent super tweet by display analyst Ross Young suggested that Apple is considering both 5.7″ and 6.1″ display sizes. It has been further revealed that the company is considering a 6.1″ OLED panel as well as a 5.7″ OLED or an LCD panel for the new iPhone SE.

A Significant Departure

Up until now, the iPhone SE lineup has been made with the recycled design of the iPhone 8. If the rumours are true, this will be a significant departure for the product. We can expect a price hike as OLED panels are more expensive. There is also a possibility that the iPhone SE will be a rebranded iPhone XR. This would solve the recycling problem for Apple and traditionally iPhone SE is always been a nostalgic past iPhone rebranding.

Most resources claim that the iPhone SE will get a modern design regardless of the display size. It is yet to be seen if the new iPhone will be introduced with a face ID or if it will stick to a touch ID as in the past.
