Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Jason Schreier corroborates some of the claims made by the French YouTuber.

A recent leak suggests some good news for Assassin’s Creed fans. According to a French YouTuber, j0nathan, the upcoming game in the series is going back to basics.

The leaker claims that the upcoming game, previously called AC Rift, is now called Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The game is planned for Spring 2023 and will be revealed on September 10 at Ubisoft Forward.

AC Mirage is set during the Anarchy of Samarra in Baghdad (860-870). The player will control a young Basim, who’s a thief before meeting the Hidden Ones. Several RPG elements are dropped, like dialogue choices, leveling system, and gender choice.

The game has taken inspiration from the first Assassin’s Creed. Similar to that game, Mirage will feature multiple cities. The game will bring back Eagle Vision along with the Drone Bird. Basim will have access to the String Dagger as well.

The leaker further claims that a remake of Assassin’s Creed 1 is in development and will be part of the season pass for Mirage. The season pass will also contain a DLC set in Constantinople, where Basim meets Sigurd.

Jason Schreier, a prominent game journalist, has corroborated part of the leak. However, he also claims that some info is inaccurate, like the game featuring multiple cities. Schreier didn’t say anything about the AC1 Remake or Constantinople DLC.
