The alleged Campaign DLC will release in late 2023.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 could be a very different entry when compared to previous games in the series.
COD Leaker TheGhostOfHope made a bold claim recently about the upcoming game. He claims the 2022 COD will get a campaign-focused DLC.
The said DLC will be bundled with the previously-rumored map pack that will supposedly contain many fan-loved maps from Modern Warfare 2 (2009). All of this will be paid content and will release in late 2023.
This DLC is Activision’s way to support the game for Year 2. Previous rumors suggest there will be no premium COD game in 2023. The publisher could be using this expansion to boost their 2024 financial reports.
In almost two decades of the series’ history, only one COD game has ever received a Campaign DLC.
Call of Duty: United Offensive was the story expansion for Call of Duty (2003). It was the first and last story DLC ever released for any COD game.
If this supposed DLC turns out to be a success, we may see more campaign expansions. COD single-player modes are fun for a few hours, and fans won’t say no to such experiences. How about a campaign from an antagonist’s point of view?
