iPhone Pro lineup is tipped to include USB 3.2, Solid State Buttons and a Periscope Camera

Last week we pondered upon the possibility of a portless iPhone. That possibility still holds but we are tipped by Ming-Chi-Kuo that iPhone 15 Pro with USB 3.2 Thunderbolt capabilities is in development.

The whole iPhone 15 lineup is switching to the USB-C but only the pro models will get the USB 3.2 speeds with thunderbolt 3. It’s not that you will be able to attach an external GPU to a phone but the versatility of the Thunderbolt port still has its advantages in this small form factor.

The pro-users will benefit from the high data transfer speeds of the port and various accessories will be supported too. This will be a big push forward in the port and IC industry as almost all the phones support only USB 2.0 speeds at the moment.

Kuo has also stated that iPhone 15 Pro Max might come with a periscope zoom lens with 6x magnification and the Pro lineup might get solid-state volume buttons

This is really an early development as iPhone 15 is still 10 months away so take this news with a pinch of salt.
