Hideo Kojima

Kojima tweeted “Tentatively finished editing for now” along with a cropped image of editing software.

Hideo Kojima, the creator of Death Stranding and the Metal Gear Solid franchise, hinted that the announcement of his next game could be near. A few days ago, Kojima tweeted, “Tentatively finished editing for now”, along with two images.

One of the images was a cropped picture of an editing tool, whereas the other had two monitors and a speaker in the middle.

We do know that Kojima Productions is working on two games. One is in collaboration with Microsoft, whereas the other is Death Stranding 2, as confirmed by Norman Reedus.

Tom Henderson, a prominent leaker in the industry, claimed a while ago that the Microsoft game is a horror title codenamed Overdose. Margaret Qualley, who played Mama and Lockne in Death Stranding, will be the protagonist.

The last game developed by Kojima Productions came out in late 2019. So, they should have something to show by now.

The actual reveal date of the next project is a mystery. However, Gamescom 2022 seems like a safe bet. The event will take place from August 24 to 28.

I will be a bit surprised if Kojima won’t show anything at The Game Awards 2022, hosted by his good friend Geoff Keighley. Or maybe, we will see something else there. Only time will tell.
