Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster

The first six Final Fantasy games are allegedly coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

PlayStation and Nintendo Switch owners could soon be playing six more Final Fantasy games. According to some recent ratings by ESRB, the first six FF games will release for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Last year, Final Fantasy 1 to 6 were remastered for PC, iOS, and Android. Surprisingly, there was no word about any possible console port. Many thought Square Enix was done with the games and had moved on to other projects. These assumptions were wrong.

Final Fantasy 1 to 6 are coming to PS4 and Switch

These recent ESRB ratings suggest that release on other platforms could be closer than we think. It is interesting to note that Xbox platforms are omitted from the rating.

This shouldn’t be a surprise, as the last major Final Fantasy game, FF7 Remake, didn’t get an Xbox port either. The two upcoming games, FF7 Rebirth and FF XVI are also only confirmed for the PlayStation platform.

The series’ future on Xbox consoles looks grim but not without any hope. The recently-released spin-off title, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, was released for all major platforms, including Microsoft’s consoles.
