Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

The original MW2 had 16 Base maps and 10 DLC maps. Bringing all of them to the new MW2 could be a very tall order.

According to a recent rumor, the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will feature a ton of content from the original MW2. Twitter User and Call of Duty Leaker @TheGhostOfHope, made a very bold claim yesterday.

He claimed that the developer Infinity Ward plans to release all or most of the maps from the original MW2 to the 2022 Call of Duty game. He further mentioned that all the maps would be released together during Year 2 of the game’s life cycle.

The original MW2 featured 16 Base Maps and 10 DLC Maps. Bringing all or most of the maps to the new game will be no easy feat. If the rumor turns out to be accurate, then 2022 COD will feature the highest amount of maps in the series’ history.

Players should take this claim with a massive grain of salt. Even if the rumor is accurate, IW can still change its plans. We are talking about Year 2 content here, not Year 1. Nothing about post-launch content is set in stone.

Supporting MW2 for two years makes sense. A previous report claims that there will no new Call of Duty game in 2023.
