Ghost-Focused Campaign in 2023

The fan-favorite character is getting his own campaign in 2023.

One of the most iconic characters in Call of Duty history is expected to get a spin-off campaign. According to a report by COD leaker Ralph Valve, Activision Blizzard is planning a story-based DLC for Simon Riley, better known as Ghost.

The rumor isn’t made out of thin air. Previous statements by developers support this claim. In an IGN interview, Modern Warfare 2 Narrative Director Jeffrey Negus and Head Writer Brian Bloom claimed they are interested in a spin-off project focusing on Ghost’s origin story.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II

A previous leak has also suggested that there will be no new COD game in 2023. Instead, we will get a massive paid expansion. The Ghost-focused campaign will likely be a part of that alleged expansion. Check our previous article for more information.

Call of Duty is an annual franchise that hasn’t missed a year since 2005. That’s one of the reasons no COD game has ever gotten a story expansion. Only the first Call of Duty game received a story DLC. After that, it has all been cosmetic items and map packs.

If the above leak is accurate, then Activision Blizzard is finally doing something out of the ordinary, and we aren’t complaining about that.
