The latest Qualcomm chip and phenomenal 165Hz display might revive Motorola.
The Motorola Edge series has been the pinnacle of the perfect balance between form and function for some time now. The next member in the series, the Edge 40 Pro’s renders were leaked by Evan Blass a couple of days ago, followed by its massive spec leak.
Based on information from the GPC, the phone is powered by the SD 8 Gen 2 with a maximum of 12GB of RAM. The battery capacity is 4,600mAh and supports fast wired charging of 125W and wireless charging of 15W. Please note that there were some differences between the X30 and Edge 30 Pro models last year.
The main camera of the X40, and presumably the Moto Edge 40 Pro, is a 50MP sensor with OIS and a 1/1.55″ size, accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 117° field of view and a 12MP zoom camera with a 2x magnification. On the front, a 60MP selfie camera is in a centered punch hole.
The phone will support a 6.7” 10-bit OLED panel with 1,080 x 2,400px resolution and has curved sides. It will feature the highest refresh rate of 165Hz ever in the Edge series. Additionally, the phone is equipped with stereo speakers with Dolby Audio and is water-resistant with an IP68 rating, as evidenced by some of the images available.
While it remains unclear when Motorola will officially unveil the Edge 40 Pro globally, it is expected to be accompanied by other models, such as the vanilla Edge 40. However, without an X40 Pro, it seems unlikely that there will be a successor to the Edge 30 Ultra.
